Change Your Life in 28 Days Video
Video transcription
Ramona: It doesn’t take years to create a healthier life style, you can start today.
Speaker 2: In fact, 360 Your Life founder, Brooke Thomas, has broken the process into twenty-eight days. Welcome back Brooke.
Brooke Thomas: Thank you. I’m happy to be here again.
Ramona: You’ve created a twenty-eight day challenge.
Brooke Thomas: Yes.
Ramona: What is this? What’s it all about?
Brooke Thomas: It’s a healthy lifestyle challenge. There’s tons of fitness challenges out there, but this is a true healthy lifestyle challenge, focusing on four different key areas of health; nutrition, beauty, home, and stress. We want to detox and ditch the bad, and put more of the good in. There’s so much that we can’t control with toxins, that I wanted to help everybody just try to control the things that we can.
Ramona: Let’s start with nutrition.
Brooke Thomas: The first week will cover nutrition. I’m going to cover seven hot topics in nutrition. Just to name a few, we’re going to go over grains, and meat, processed and manufactured meat. What’s that all about versus grass-fed and finished beef. Sugar, what’s the right sugar and why? What should I stay away from? Grains, do I need to go gluten free? What type of bread can I and can’t I have? Even vitamins, the highest quality supplements that we need in today’s world with the food that we’re eating.
Really covering, educating, on the why’s, and then giving you resources to go and make a change. One thing, one day, …
Ramona: One thing per day, something like that?
Brooke Thomas: Yes, yes.
Ramona: You’re trying to break it down into easy steps, …
Brooke Thomas: Baby steps.
Ramona: … because sometimes, I’ve told you before, it can be overwhelming to try to do all of this, so one thing a day.
Brooke Thomas: Yes.
Ramona: One of your suggestions is switching from regular ground beef …
Brooke Thomas: Conventional beef, right.
Ramona: … to grass-fed …
Brooke Thomas: … and it’s finished beef. Exactly. Again, with bread it’s so confusing. I love to educate first, because why are we going to make any changes if we don’t know why?
Ramona: Why don’t you like white bread? What do you have against white bread?
Brooke Thomas: It goes back to the sugar that’s in it. Sugar turns inflammation into our body, and it’s really all about the sugar in white bread. Those are the things that we’re going to educate on.
When I was diagnosed with cancer over nine years ago, I went after just a search for all of this information. It was so overwhelming, that after nine years I have figured it out, and I have all the research, so I wanted to make it very simple.
Again, this is baby steps, just the simplicity of just changing one thing a day, and really helping people to know where to go, and giving them several options.
Ramona: We showed you what you’re calling the bad and the good when it comes to nutrition.
Brooke Thomas: Next beauty. Every week is going to have seven hot topics. This is just a few that I brought with me. When it comes to beauty; deodorant, toothpaste, and nail polish. Those are three out of the seven. Everybody’s looking for better deodorant. What type of deodorant should I use? Why can’t I use this type of deodorant? I really don’t call out any specific brand, but there’s certain websites you can go on, like the environmental working group, Skin Deep, website, where you can put your products in, and they’ll give you a rating and they’ll tell you why. There’s things like that that people have no idea about, where you can really start to educate yourself, and empower yourself to make better choices.
Ramona: Why is deodorant bad? Because there’s bad stuff in the deodorant and then we put it on our pits and it’s getting into our lymph nodes?
Brooke Thomas: Exactly. I don’t want to say that it’s bad, I just want to educate people on why certain deodorants might no be the best for them, and what better choices are.
Speaker 2: We can do better.
Brooke Thomas: We can do better.
Speaker 2: You say we can even do better when it comes to brushing our teeth.
Brooke Thomas: Yes, exactly, and even nail polish. Our skin is the largest organ, so anything that we’re putting on is going into our bloodstream, and we just need to be careful. There are so many things that we can’t control, so when we find out the things that we can, why not swap it, right?
The next thing is home. Home should be a very safe place, and unfortunately there’s so many toxins lurking in our home. If you have pets, or kids, even another reason to switch over to better brands, safer brands, non-toxic cleaners. Especially even your dishwasher, you want to think about your water in your home, even your floor mats, air freshener. We’re going to go over everything.
Ramona: You promise you’re going to make it easy, because it’s starting to make me feel stressed.
Brooke Thomas: I promise.
Ramona: I’ve got these things in my house right now.
Brooke Thomas: Yes, and do not feel stressed because I give you a simple guide. Remember simple, that’s all it’s about. One thing, one day, simple.
Ramona: Okay.
Brooke Thomas: I’m glad you mentioned stressed, because the last week is stress. We need to kick the stress in our life, in all different areas. Part of living a healthy life is not being stressed. I live in a very high-stress place, that’s just my personality. There are things that we can do to de-stress and live a healthier life that you might not have thought about. One of them is just being grateful, and really finding out what your purpose is.
Ramona: Keeping a [crosstalk 00:05:00] journal.
Brooke Thomas: Yes, and I actually have a gratitude journal over there. That’s something that’s so important, to remember all the good things when we are stressed out about the bad things. Also, I brought a spine, because our nervous system and our spine could actually be causing stress.
Speaker 2: You brought a [inaudible 00:05:19] spine with you.
Brooke Thomas: I did. I talked about chiropractic in one of the days. Also, fitness, fitness is huge for stress. We need to release, have those endorphins going, so that we’re not as stressed. Also having good water…
Speaker 2: Just water?
Brooke Thomas: Good, clean, water that I love. This is that Diamond Creek Water that I’ve talked about before. It’s just a really, really, good water that will hydrate you. You just want to learn more about those things.
This is, again, it was a small space, but I promise this is a simple, healthy, life style challenge. I have not found anything else out there like this, and it’s free. That’s the most important thing.
All 3 speakers: It’s free.
